Chalkdell Cottage is a small, self-catering holiday cottage situated in a terrace of Grade II listed dwellings, built from local stone by quarrymen, originally for their own use. The cottage is believed to have been built over 200 years ago and is in the Herston Conservation area which is one of the oldest parts of Swanage.
The beach, town and coast path are all within easy reach of the cottage - approx one mile - just a few minutes drive.
Within a few minutes walk from the cottage are two convenience stores, a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant and two pubs.
There are bus stops nearby for buses to Corfe Castle, Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth.
Monkey World, Lulworth Cove, Shell Bay, Durdle Door and Studland are all worth a visit and are not far from Swanage.
The cottage is centrally heated and has a small, cosy lounge with comfortable seating, gate-leg dining table, TV-DVD combi with freeview stations. There are local guide books, maps and reading books for you to use.
The split level kitchen is very well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, ceramic hob, built in oven, fridge, microwave, slow cooker etc.
