Welcoming our 2022 Ambassadors!

Posted on 8th June, 2022

We are delighted to introduce this year’s Carnival Ambassadors; Millie and Lavinia-Dior who will be representing Swanage Carnival in 2022.

Originally chosen in 2020 the girls have had to wait a long time to be able to fulfil their role due to the pandemic – but it’s full steam ahead for 2022!

Our Youth Ambassadors will be helping to organise, judge and take part in Carnival activities throughout the week. Both girls are very excited to take on the important role for Carnival and are looking forward to joining the fun after a two-year wait.

Carnival Chairperson Maria Foot said “This role was introduced in 2019 with the aim of inspiring more youngsters to get involved with Swanage Carnival.  Our first Ambassadors; Alex, Seb and Reece had a great time, getting involved with many of our events and we had lots of positive feedback about the new role that is open to all young people in our local area.”

We have lots of brand new events lined up for 2022 and our Ambassadors will be representing Carnival at these, as well as attending lots of our long-standing events.  Please look out for our 2022 Ambassadors who will be welcoming visitors and helping to raise vital funds for our chosen good causes.”

We are grateful to Ellis Jones Solicitors, a long term sponsor of Carnival, for sponsoring the Ambassadors this year.

Meet the Girls

Millie is 13 years old and attends The Swanage School.  Millie loves baking and during lockdown opened a cake stall so she could save money to buy a Crested Gecko! Millie also enjoys trying out special effects make-up.

Lavinia-Dior is 10 years old and attends Swanage Primary School.  Lavinia-Dior has taught herself gymnastics and when she’s not busy learning new moves, she likes to help her mum with chores at home.

Full details of all our events will be available in the Carnival programme from July.
