Ensuring that everyone can enjoy Swanage Carnival including information on activity locations as well as parking and toilet facilities
The Showground
Location: BH19 1NR
The Swanage Carnival Showground is located on Sandpit Field, between De Moulham Road and Shore Road. Sandpit Field is a grassed area and there are several wheelchair accessible entry points.
Marquee: The marquee hosts live music, cookery demonstrations, bingo and other activities throughout the week. All marquee events are wheelchair accessible.
The Carnival Information Tent is located at the entrance to the marquee.
Arena: The Showground Arena is the focal point for many displays and activities. The area is wheelchair accessible. If you have questions about specific events, please speak to the team at the Information Tent.
Toilets: Temporary toilet facilities are available on Sandpit Field during Carnival week, including an accessible toilet.
Additional public toilets are available along Shore Road, including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities.
First Aid: The designated First Aid point is located to the south of the Showground Arena.
First aiders are available from 7am to 11pm, with additional cover at activities across the Carnival.
Shore Road
Location: BH19 1LA
Shore Road hosts a number of events including the children’s fun run, Go Kart Grand Prix and the wheelbarrow race. It’s approx. 800m from Main Beach Car Park and had access via paved road. There are some inclines along the route.
Beach Gardens
Location: BH19 1PG
Beach Gardens is home to competitions including tennis, bowls and putting. The nearest parking: North Beach Car Park which is approx. 640m via paved road. There is some incline and pathways through grassed areas. It is Wheelchair accessible.
Prince Albert Gardens
Location: BH19 2AR
Prince Albert Gardens : The nearest parking is Broad Road Car Park which is approx. 100m. Paths through grassed areas and there is a steep incline.
The Quay
Location: BH19 2NP
The Quay is the starting point for the junior crabbing competition and the Swanage Bay Swim. The nearest parking is Broad Road Car Park which is approx. 330m away. There is a paved road with steep incline with access via cobbled pedestrian pathway.
