Swanage Carnival Committee has just pronounced that FiFi’s the fancy dress shop in Institute Road as winner of the best decorated carnival themed shop window for 2024 repeating their success of last year.
The Carnival’s media team selected their favourite five windows from the town, which were then revealed on Facebook for a public vote to decide the winner.
Hundreds of locals voted and placed FiFi’s in first place, followed by Curiosity and Studio South in third, with Sue’s Cards and Gifts and Post office in the top five.
Carnival Secretary Kevin commented ” This year we have a specially engraved trophy “The Julie Wheeldon Memorial Trophy” for this now popular event . Julie was a “colourful” carnival member who we sadly lost a few years ago and the committee agreed that this would be a fitting tribute to her. We were taken a back last and this year by the number of shops that got involved without any prompting, so it’s nice to give something back as an appreciation to our local businesses”.
