Southern Spinal
Injuries Trust
SSIT is working for people living with spinal cord injury, enabling greater independence and quality of life. Giving them the chance to re-experience the fundamental things we all take for granted. The Southern Spinal Injuries Trust raises money to purchase equipment for people with spinal cord injury living in the South and South West of England. The trust also provides resources, over and above that provided by the NHS, to support the patients cared for at The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre in Salisbury.
Dorset and Somerset
Air Ambulance
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is one of Swanage Carnival’s annual charities. The charity was established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance. The charity receives no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and relies on the generosity of the public and organisation such as Swanage Carnival for support. With operational costs of over £3.5 million a year and the approximate cost per mission of £3,000, our annual support helps maintain a vital service in our community.
